Laing O’ Rourke – BRI New Ward Development

We are now in week 13 of our 59 week programme for the ‘New Ward Block’ at Bristol Royal Infirmary. The setting out and installation of head track for partitions has been completed on 5 floors and we have 1st fixed a percentage of partitions to allow M&E to install their large modular units.
Due to the wet weather conditions Optimum have been instructed to install temporary weather protection from metal stud work on certain elevations, the aim being that this helps to keep the inside of the building as dry as possible.
Over the next few weeks we will begin to 1st fix full floors of partitions and progress with the head track installation to the remaining floors. Please see attached site photos

BAM Construction – Imperial Tobacco, Bristol

Our works on the Imperial Tobacco Factory in Bristol are in their final weeks and need to be handed over to the main contractor by 1st March which we are on target for. The Project has been challenging with many changes in design to achieve the satisfactory acoustic performances required, the Project has been delayed slightly due to design decision being made on the 3rd floor but these are now resolved and works on going. The open office areas are complete and the curved bulkheads to the atrium show high quality workmanship. Optimums site team have worked well and pulled together on what has been a challenging job.
