Work is now well underway at Portishead Marina for Main Contractor Crest Nicholson. We are installing Metsec to the External Envelope and shortly to begin installing the External Render System. Total Project Value is 400k and on time and on budget.

Carillion – South Bristol Hospital Now Open

Work has now been completed at South Bristol Hospital for Main Contractor Carillion. The Hospital opened to the public last week and is fully operational. All the staff are thoroughly impressed with the Hospitals Build Quality and Facilities. The main Atrium is the entrance point to the building and has been very well recieved and we have been complemented by Carillion on both the standard of our work and the way we carried it out during the Project.

Optimum Recieve Recommendation For Laing O’Rourke Exeter Project

Optimum have just recieved a letter of recommendation for our work carried out on Exeter Hospitals CT Simulator and Pain Management Clinic from Lee O’Connor who managed the project for Laing O’ Rourke praising our work both on and off site.

We are now also in the process of carrying out work on the next phase of the Hospital Refurbishment Project.

Laing O’Rourke – Bronglais Hospital, Aberyswyth, Wales

Work is well underway and progressing well on the first phase of the Bronglais Hospital Development for Laing O’Rourke. We have been on site for 3 months and Ground, 1st and 2nd floor 1st side partitioning is complete. We have recieved very complimentary reviews from both Laing O’Rourke and the client and are looking forward to progressing on with the remaining works and the next phase.

Optimum Achieves ISO 14001 Certification

After passing the 1^st stage audit back in November 2011, the next and final stage audit had been arranged for the week commencing 20^th February 2012.

The week leading up to the audit Tony Marshfield offered several site locations to BM Trada lead auditor Wayne Pritchard to choose a site to conduct the audit. Wayne chose the Bronglais Hospital Project, permission to conduct an audit on this project was granted by Laing O’Rourke’s site team.

During the site audit, the audit team from BM Trada spoke to several Optimum site operatives and management on site to assess the knowledge and understanding of Optimums’ EMS, which the auditor commented were “Honest & Knowledgeable”.

Based upon the findings in the audits, the lead auditor recommended that Optimum Drywall Systems Limited be recommended for certification to ISO14001.

Auditors’ comments

“This is a first class Management system and a first class organization. I appreciate the efforts made by all engaged and recommend certification. The management system was found to be effective and it is capable of enabling the company to achieve its policy and objectives”

Leadbitter Group – Junction 3 Development, Bristol

We have recently started work on a new housing development for Main Contractor Leadbitter at Junction 3 of the M32 in Bristol. The project includes 59 homes, a Creche, Creative Learning Centre and a Libary. The Project is being built from new Sustainable Materials. Our scope of works includes Partitioning and Suspended Ceilings to the apartments, townhouses and retail units worth £575k.

Cowlin Construction – Exeter Student Accomodation

Optimum have secured two blocks of student accomodation for Cowlin Construction in Exeter. The job is Knauf spec – boarding to a timber frame structure, skim finish with a contract sum in excess of £800k. The project duration is 30 weeks and the two blocks will be running alongside each other.
Work commenced on site last week and our site team are eager to get the project off to a good start.

Laing O’Rourke – Taff Ely Learning Centre, Nantgarw

Work is now reaching the final stages at Taff Ely Learning Centre for Main Contractor Laing O’Rourke. Our main partitions are complete with final finishing works underway and ceiling installation following as the Zones are handed over for decoration. Work has also commenced in the Creche and we are working towards the project completion date in 12 weeks time to allow for commissioning works to be completed and the site handed over for the new College Term in September.

Crest Nichoslon – Sixty8 Apartment Project, Portishead Marina

Optimum have just been awareded a significant project for Main Contractor Crest Nicholson in Portishead comprising of 60 New Apartments. Our work consists of External Metsec and an External Rendering Package with a combined value of £400k. Work is due to start within the next month and we are also pricing the Internal Partitions package.

Vinci Construction – Circle Hospital, Reading

We are now into week 21 of our programme at Reading. The Tape and Jointing has been completed on the Ground Floor and part completed on the First and Second Floors.
The margins are being installed to take Ecophon and SAS ceilings and it is anticipated that good progress will be made on these over the next month
