Leadbitter Group – Junction 3 Development, Bristol

We have recently started work on a new housing development for Main Contractor Leadbitter at Junction 3 of the M32 in Bristol. The project includes 59 homes, a Creche, Creative Learning Centre and a Libary. The Project is being built from new Sustainable Materials. Our scope of works includes Partitioning and Suspended Ceilings to the apartments, townhouses and retail units worth £575k.

Cowlin Construction – Exeter Student Accomodation

Optimum have secured two blocks of student accomodation for Cowlin Construction in Exeter. The job is Knauf spec – boarding to a timber frame structure, skim finish with a contract sum in excess of £800k. The project duration is 30 weeks and the two blocks will be running alongside each other.
Work commenced on site last week and our site team are eager to get the project off to a good start.

Laing O’Rourke – Taff Ely Learning Centre, Nantgarw

Work is now reaching the final stages at Taff Ely Learning Centre for Main Contractor Laing O’Rourke. Our main partitions are complete with final finishing works underway and ceiling installation following as the Zones are handed over for decoration. Work has also commenced in the Creche and we are working towards the project completion date in 12 weeks time to allow for commissioning works to be completed and the site handed over for the new College Term in September.

Crest Nichoslon – Sixty8 Apartment Project, Portishead Marina

Optimum have just been awareded a significant project for Main Contractor Crest Nicholson in Portishead comprising of 60 New Apartments. Our work consists of External Metsec and an External Rendering Package with a combined value of £400k. Work is due to start within the next month and we are also pricing the Internal Partitions package.

Vinci Construction – Circle Hospital, Reading

We are now into week 21 of our programme at Reading. The Tape and Jointing has been completed on the Ground Floor and part completed on the First and Second Floors.
The margins are being installed to take Ecophon and SAS ceilings and it is anticipated that good progress will be made on these over the next month

Optimum Win Two Major Projects

It was announced just before we finished for Christmas that we have won two significant Contracts which are scheduled to start early in 2012.

Bronglais Hospital for Laing O’Rourke in Aberystwyth, Wales which is a large Hospital Project, consisting of some refurbishment works and also new build works.

Student Accomadation Project for Cowlins in Exeter, Devon. This is a new build project consisting of a number of new accomadation buildings for the University of Exeter.

Vinci Construction – Cynon Valley Hospital, Mountain Ash

Work has now been all but completed at Mountain Ash Hospital for Main Contractor Vinci. Alterations have been carried out to the Dentistry Area and we are now just making good any additional works and installing ceiling tiles behind the commissioning works to the Dentistry area. Work is scheduled to be 100% complete by the middle of January 2012.

Optimum Contracts South West successfully complete Care home

Optimum have recently completed its 1^st project under our new Contracts Division banner. Optimum Contracts South Ltd was set up towards the end of 2010 to target small to medium size projects and is being headed up by a completely new team.

Sean Nash has bought an experienced fit out team along with many years experience working on projects anywhere from £10k to £250k. Optimum Contracts South Ltd are already on target of £1 million turnover in the first year and have a healthy order book going into 2012.

Englishcoombe House has recently been handed over to our client, Care Construction South West . This was a £240k part new and part refurbished care home consisting of 40 purpose built self contained bedrooms, Lounges , shared dining room, kitchen and meeting rooms.

Amongst other special features of this once local public house our client requested an Orangery in the original courtyard & this is now a beautiful feature & a place for the residents & staff alike to enjoy.

Optimum Contracts South Ltd were instrumental in designing the ceilings and bulkheads in The Orangery, all the externals were applied in Webber scraped render. The project was completed within programme durations and our client’s budget.

Carillion Construction – South Bristol Hospital Final Stages

Our work is now in the Final Stages at the new South Bristol Hospital For Carillion. We are now installing the last remaining ceiling tiles following the completion of overhead Commissioning Works. The Client and Carillion are both very pleased with the standard of our workmanship and the main feautre Atrium has recieved much praise using Acoustic Panelling to create an echo free environment.
